Piolo Pascual will have a new love team in 2009. After the success of his pairing with Angel Locsin, he will now be teamed up with the mega-daughter KC Concepcion.

Piolo and KC will start taping the Philippine version of the hit koreanovela “Lovers in Paris.” Piolo will play the role of Carlo while KC will play the role of Vivian.

Lovers in Paris is a successful Korean drama series broadcast by SBS in the summer of 2004. The show won the prize for best television drama in the Baeksang Art Awards, held on May 20, 2005. The show was the first of three romantic dramas set in Europe. The second drama is Lovers in Prague. The third, and last one is simply titled Lovers.

Lovers in Paris is one of the most successful tv series in Korea with a record of 51.8% peak rating. It was also a hit in the Philippines when it was shown on ABS-CBN in 2006.

Aside from the said television series, the new love team will also do a movie together.

“Hopefully a movie before ipalabas iyong soap, but of course sa January ipapalabas muna ang movie namin ni Angel (Locsin) and come February or March naman ay ipapalabas iyong independent movie ko na ‘Manila,’” Piolo said.

Popular actor Piolo Pascual revealed that he is set to do a television series with young actress KC Concepcion.

“We will start taping in January. I don’t know if you can disclose already the soap, but yes, we are doing something come January,” the actor said.

Pascual also said that he will first be doing a movie with Concepcion before the airing of his first television series with the Megastar Sharon Cuneta’s daughter.

“Hopefully a movie before ipalabas iyong soap, but of course sa January ipapalabas muna ang movie namin ni Angel (Locsin) and come February or March naman ay ipapalabas iyong independent movie ko na ‘Manila,’” Pascual added.

Pascual is now promoting his upcoming film with Angel Locsin entitled “Love Me Again (Land Down Under)”. He will be spending his Christmas in the US with his 11-year-old son Iñigo and the rest of his family who are now based abroad.

Like any other offspring of celebrities, the son of Piolo Pascual, 11-year old Iñigo, also wants to follow in the footsteps of his father.

Pascual disclosed that Iñigo wrote him a letter to tell him that he wishes to enter show business. The actor, however, said he had to say no because finishing his education is more important.

“He gave me a journal and said na gusto niya talagang mag-artista but personally ayoko,” Pascual said.

“Ang agreement namin ay tapusin niya muna ang pag-aaral niya… Gusto ko ay i-enjoy niya muna ang childhood niya at tapusin ang pag-aaral,” he added.

He noted that it is very difficult for anyone to balance studies and showbiz work.

Iñigo is currently studying in the United States.

“Okay na siguro na nasa states siya. Maganda naman ‘yong pinapasukan niya. Iba din ang standard doon,” he said.

“Choice naman niya kung gusto niyang mag-high school dito at mag-college doon. Medyo madugo lang kapag doon siya nag-aral pero kung gusto niya doon ay gusto ko din kasi mas tahimik ang buhay for him,” he added.

The hunk actor recently flew to the US to spend time with his son. He is now back in the country to fulfill his commitments but he will leave for the US again to spend Christmas and New Year with his family.

Meanwhile, the hunk actor, who did lots of movies this year, said he is very grateful because of his countless blessings.

Pascual said he is also hoping to meet the right woman.

“I’m constantly praying… sooner or later, I’m sure iga-grant ni Lord ‘yon. But as of now, I’m enjoying all the blessings that are coming my way. Puro trabaho at pamilya muna,” he said.

Pascual is now busy promoting his first movie with Angel Locsin titled “Love Me Again (Land Down Under).” The movie is directed by Rory Quintos and produced by ABS-CBN’s movie outfit Star Cinema.

In awe of Piolo

MANILA, Philippines—Gina Alajar was giddy like a school girl when she told me that she got star-struck when she watched Piolo Pascual do his reading at the book launch of Ricky Lee.

“I was totally in awe of PJ,” Gina gushed. “I’ve worked with him before but iba ang dating niya while he was reciting lines from Ricky’s book. I turned into a fan! So I asked PJ’s permission if I could put in my Facebook site that I’m in a relationship with him even just for a week … haha! He gamely agreed.”

How refreshing to know that a multi-awarded actress like Gina hasn’t lost sight of such simple girly joys.
