KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual are now back in the Philippines after working in the City of Lights. The two stars stayed in Paris, France to tape scenes for the Pinoy version of the Koreanovela Lovers in Paris.

Showbiz News Ngayon (SNN) interviewed KC and Piolo when they arrived in the Philippines earlier today, March 30. The ABS-CBN star who will portray the role of Vivian in the upcoming show told the press, “Nag-stay po kami ng two weeks doon pero siyempre, there’s no place like home. We’re happy to be back although ang dami naming natapos, lahat ng kailangang tapusin for Lovers in Paris, natapos namin doon. Sobrang liit lang ng team namin…ang ganda ng feeling na lahat kami nagkasundo at nagtulong-tulong para magawa lahat ng gagawin.”

Piolo also felt happy about their productive stay in Paris. “Masaya at masarap magtrabaho sa Paris kasi maganda yung lugar,” said the matinee idol with a smile.

During their free time, Piolo was toured around by KC since she was very familiar with the area. She had lived and studied there for four years during her college days in the American University of Paris.

“She brought me to places na hindi dinarayo ng turista. Para talaga siyang tour guide dun and she really knows her way around,” said Piolo about his new leading lady. Lovers in Paris is the actually the first teleserye of KC in the Kapamilya Network.

After bonding together in Paris, the two stars then proceeded to Rome. KC disclosed that Piolo offered to accompany her there since he learned that she would be traveling alone to Italy.

Last March 27, KC (the Philippine ambassador against hunger for United Nations-World Food Programme) visited the agency’s main headquarters there. According to KC, she is the first national ambassador to visit the UN WFP Rome headquarters.

A true-blooded Kapamilya, Piolo Pascual inked another two-year contract in ABS-CBN last March 4.

“Whatever it is, if ther’s anything out of showbiz, out of work, ayaw na naming pag-usapan, because we realy wanna protect our relationship or the kind of thing that we have. We’re public property and if people are gonna speculate and they’re gonna think na ganun, ganyan, ayokong gamitin yung soap, ayokong gamitin yung partnership para pag-usapan. Sa akin, kung ano ang nakikita ninyo, that’s what it is.

“I’d rather not discuss about personal stuff, magagamit kasi yun, sasabihin nagpo-promo. Kung ano ang nakikita ng tao, bahala na silang mag-judge,” saad ni Piolo nang makausap siya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) pagkatapos ng contract signing niya.

Isang pausbong na relasyon na sana na naputol nang mag-aral nga sa Paris si KC, aminado si Piolo na ang laki ng in-improve ni KC ngayong nagkasama sila uli.

“After her graduation dito, dun na siya nag-aral ng college after high school graduation. Naudlot, kumbaga. She was there for five years, finally when she moved back, we got the chance to be closer and be friends again.

“Ang laki ng ipinagbago niya, ibang-iba. I’m talking to her nga the other night na she’s greally grown, she’s really changed for the better. I’m not saying she was bad before, pero kita mo she evolved a matured woman and ang ganda ng pagbabago niya.

“Makita mo pa lang siya, when she starts talking, talagang para kang napo-possessed, e. The way she looks with her sincere eyes, napakagaan na, talagang makakalimutan mo yung oras, makakalimutan mo yung nangyayari sa paligid mo pag siya ang kausap mo,” paglalarawan ni Piolo kay KC.

Hindi na rin itinago ni Piolo na kung anuman ang nararamdaman niya for KC is something new for him.
“Maraming bago, I can say nakaka-surprise. Ako mismo, nasu-surprise ako sa nararamdaman ko. Kaytagal ko ring itong hindi masyadong… Hindi naman sa hindi naramdaman, but napagdaanan sa iba; which is a good thing.”

“Yes, you can say that. Mahirap gumawa ng soap. For her to accept that kind of challenge, you have to give it to her, she deosn’t have to do this and yet she accepted the challenge. To be given the chance to work with her, to be her partner, siyempre is another pressure sa kanya, so I have to really talk to her.”

“I’m thankful, but siyempre pressure yun, di ba? But I’ve said naman, hindi ako gagawa ng bagay na ikakasama namin, ikasasama ko sa kanya. I’ll be careful,” pahayag ni Piolo.

MANILA, Philippines—Piolo Pascual has nothing but praises for KC Concepcion, his new leading lady on the forthcoming ABS-CBN series “Lovers in Paris.”

A day before this exclusive interview held at the launch of his latest endorsement (for Blue Water Day Spa), Piolo had his first taping with KC.

Tough scene

Making things tough, their first scene together involved an emotional outburst. “I had to fire her and she had to cry. But she delivered and I was impressed.”

He described KC as “refreshing” in a role that requires her to wear very little makeup. “She glows. She’s more beautiful without makeup. I’ve become a fan,” he enthused.

In a previous interview, KC related that Piolo literally “courted” her to convince her to accept the project.

“She doesn’t have to do a soap,” he explained. “It’s a big challenge … to be seen on TV every night. I simply told her that it’ll be a good experience.”

This adventure’s highlight is a trip to Paris, where key scenes will be taped. KC finished college in Paris.

“Whenever we talk about the city, her eyes light up,” he recounted. “She’s excited to show us around and take us to her school, her favorite park and café … to the Louvre.”

It will also permit them to do ordinary things like ride the Metro, the Parisian equivalent of the MRT.

As bonus, traveling will allow them to get closer — along with co-star Zanjoe Marudo. “There’ll be no fans and press people watching our every move. We’ll be more relaxed. We can be ourselves.”

KC said that she learns a lot from Piolo.

“What’s nice about Kristina (KC’s real name),” Piolo said, “is that she’s grounded. She will never make you feel that she’s the daughter of the Megastar (Sharon Cuneta). That she comes from a well-off family.”

She makes him feel at ease, Piolo added. “At first, I thought I’d end up stiff or reserved around her … but she was the first to break the ice.”

After “Lovers in Paris,” next stop for Piolo and KC is a movie.

Looks like the heartthrob is out to give KC’s erstwhile screen partner Richard Guiterrez stiff competition. As KC quipped on TV: “May the best man win.”
