Heartthrob and hunk Piolo Pascual remains to be one of the most desirable but elusive bachelors in the country. Despite the many leading ladies he has been linked to, Piolo has successfully avoided romantic attachment, always saying the right time hasn’t come, and that Miss Right hasn’t come into his life.

He wants to concentrate on his career, take advantage of the opportunities, the latest of which is the ABS-CBN soap opera project pairing him with KC Concepcion, “Lovers in Paris” which brought them to Paris for taping. The two just came back from that beautiful European City where KC served as Piolo’s tour guide. It is recalled that KC stayed and studied in Paris for four years, enough time for her to learn about the city and its culture.

Showing of “Lovers in Paris” is now being scheduled, along with the other new TV shows of the Kapamilya network. The teleserye is based on a hit Koreanovela of the same title which was shown on ABS-CBN a few years back.

Piolo, reunited with his childhood sweetheart

Anyway, right now the buzz is that Piolo Pascual and his one true love and childhood sweetheart, have reunited! Yes indeed, Piolo and Isabel Oli have reunited, but only on the Max’s TV ad and not in real life, because as we all know, they were never “on,” although Isabel has been honest in saying she had a crush on her Max’s co-endorser.

Their Max’s TV commercial which they made five years ago, was a big hit and it pushed their budding showbiz career up the ladder of fame and popularity. Now Piolo and Isabel Oli are household names, though they belong to rival networks.

When asked about their reunion, the two artists expressed excitement to work together again for the Max’s commercial.

On his part, Piolo said, “I never thought na magkakaroon ng kasunod but Jim Fuentebella (Max’s VP for Corporate Marketing) and I were talking and for the longest time talaga we wanted to bring her back. Tignan mo nga naman siya ngayon, biglang nag-bloom, di ba? At ang daming clamor na rin nga kasi from the customers ng Max’s.”

About Max’s management’s decision to continue with the trilogy of Piolo and Isabel’s Max’s TV ad, Jim Fuentebella said, “At the back of our minds, that story needed to be played out. Everyone at one point in their lives went through something like this. They want to be ‘kilig’ the same way Piolo and Isabel went through in their story. I’m also excited to see how it comes out and I’m sure a lot of people would like to see also what the next chapter will be. It’s also our own way of showing the people how flexible and memorable Max’s is in doing functions and events.”

The story of this romance began in their naïve and innocent ages where Piolo and Isabel made a pact by breaking a wishbone – that distinctive thing that connects them and the promise to never forget each other in their separation. And in a sleigh of hand, the reunion brought back the beautiful memories and the pains of yearning to be reunited with a special someone are gone forever.

Max’s brings memories of this would-be romance to remind everyone of that one thing, that we’d always keep coming back to. Watch and see how serendipity orchestrates Piolo and Isabel’s love story at Max’s and find out how similar it is to yours.

PIOLO PASCUAL can’t contain his excitement about the inclusion of “Manila,” his first venture as producer, in the Cannes International Film Festival’s Out of Competition/Special Screenings section.

“It really pays to wait,” he told us. “When we finished the movie last year, we considered releasing it locally, but we decided to wait for a big festival.”

You can’t get bigger than Cannes, he pointed out.

This has inspired him to produce more movies. Next in line is comedian Eugene Domingo’s solo debut, which he is producing with friends.

“I’m also planning to work again with Direk Adolf (Alix, who co-directed “Manila” with Raya Martin),” he said.

He hopes to attend the fest in France next month because “it’s the film’s world premiere.”
