Psychic Maricel Gaskell is more credible than most fortune-tellers we see parading in media.

Maricel shares with us what she sees await some of our major stars this year — a brand-new one if we go by the Chinese calendar.

Piolo Pascual — Maricel sees him moving to another station. More travel and projects abroad. Not advisable to open a new business this year. There could be some intrigues that may affect his career.

KC Concepcion — Her love life will be complicated. Many opportunities when it comes to career. There is the possibility of her transferring to another residence because she will be given a position — like that of an ambassadress or something similar to that. Stress will cause her to be sickly — so she should take good care of her health.

Judy Ann Santos — Pregnancy may loom ahead and that may be challenging to her health. She will have more blessings in her career and personal life. Juday will also be receiving local awards and international recognition.

Sharon Cuneta — Awards are in her cards, claims the psychic. Sharon may even receive more major recognition this year. Luck is on her side this 2010. She may hold a position in government as an appointed official. But she may also have to give some of her attention to family affairs and attending to the illness of an older person.

Maricel Soriano — Ms. Gaskell claims that her tocaya will be doing projects with new production outfits. The Diamond Star, however, has to guard against abusive people who may take advantage of her kindness. She should also take care of her relationships. More awards and recognitions are in store for Ms. Soriano this year.

Vilma Santos — Maricel predicts even bigger success in career in politics and showbiz for the star for all seasons. Travel also plays an important role for the Batangas governor this 2010. But she should watch out for some unexpected legal conflicts and health issues within her family and self.

Marian Rivera — Maricel sees problems in her love life and career. She is advised to slow down a bit. It’s also a must for her, particularly this year, to handle her relationships well, especially when dealing with love affairs and people in the showbiz world. Possible pregnancy.

Nora Aunor — Maricel says bluntly that she can no longer see any permanent showbiz career for the superstar anymore. Giving full attention to her health and family life is important. She should also be careful in managing her finances and should let someone else handle these matters.

Dingdong Dantes — Maricel is afraid that the matinee idol may not be able to resist the presence of a new love interest (another big showbiz issue if that happens). There will be more opportunities and projects for him, however. He should open a business. He will also be quite busy doing some directorial assignments or behind the scene work.

Richard Gutierrez — The psychic doesn’t discount the possibility of this major leading man moving to another station. This will be a stressful year for him because of legal matters (even if the PEP issue is now over and done with). Richard should avoid as much as possible getting involved in intrigues. Opening a new business venture will do him good.

Rhian Ramos — Showbiz career should be the main focus of her attention, this young star is well-advised. Love matters should be set aside because showbiz and affairs of the heart can’t mix together. She should be extra careful in dealings where money is concerned.

Claudine Barretto — According to Maricel, Claudine may slow down when it comes to her showbiz career because of the demands of family life. She is advised to travel more often to boost her luck. More endorsements and other businesses will come her way this year.

Piolo Pascual turned 33 last January 12, but the hunky actor celebrated his birthday in bed!

“Natulog lang the whole day! And wala… I just stayed home,” he said.

Piolo turned 33 last January 12.

But this is the first time I’m actually doing a cruise party with Cinema One.

“When they [Cinema One] asked me what I wanted for my birthday, they gave me different options. But I said, I’ve never done something like this. And it’s a treat also para sa mga sumusuporta sa akin to make it more memorable and really special.”

In every birthday month ko, the whole month, puro movies ko ang ipinapalabas sa Cinema One. So, nakakatuwa,” saad ng hunky actor.

KC CONCEPCION.

“Natulog lang the whole day!” tawa niya. And wala… I just stayed home.

“Siyempre. It’s something special,” maikling tugon ni Piolo.

“Opo!” sagot niya.

Sa paanong paraan.

“Well, secret!” natatawang sabi ni Piolo. I just really wanna protect the kind of relationship we have because hindi naman din simpleng tao yung isa [KC]. And also, gusto ko lang talagang alagaan whatever we have.”

“Magsalita ka, hindi ka magsalita, you know, people will always have their opinion and judgments. So I guess, back to…siguro being candid and reckless when I said nga on national TV that I was courting her, I think that was a bad decision for me to even open up about it.

“Because parang for me, if I wanna be in a relationship, I would really wanna preserve it and protect it. Para naman hindi rin kami magkasira dahil nagkaroon nga ng parang iba-iba yung nasasabi ng mga tao, up to the point na muntik na kaming hindi magkasundo. So in showbiz, just keep quiet siguro whatever we have. We wanna keep it to ourselves.”

“That’s what we want people to see, that it’s not all for work, that it’s not all because we want to promote our show. So that’s why, whatever you see, kayo na ang mag-judge.

PIOLO AS MOVIE PRODUCER.

“We’ve been meeting and, my co-producers and I have been through so many big changes, iba-ibang concept. And hopefully, within the year maipalabas. And we also have another baby na gusto namin talagang ayusin. Sana maipalabas, if not this year, early next year.”

She was going to the States for the holidays and naihabol naman ng production yung bonus niya. She really deserves it.”

This is a nice and cheesiest song by Nicole Hyala. BTW, Papa P is included in the song! :)

BEA ALONZO, without a doubt, happens to be a competent actress. But she was a dismal failure when she essayed the role of former President Cory Aquino in last week’s episode of ABS-CBN’s Maalaala Mo Kaya, where she was upstaged by her leading man’s tour-de-force performance.

Obviously, Piolo Pascual did his homework in playing Ninoy, for he was able to do justice to the intricate demands of the role.

Scene after scene, he was most poignantly affecting, especially when he made those long and passionately memorable speeches almost exactly the way Ninoy did.

Bea, in fairness to her, did her very best, but her best was obviously not enough in the face of Piolo’s awe-inspiring bravura performance. Better luck next time, dear.

And remember, acting is not merely shedding tears on cue; it’s also about sensitivity and honesty in one’s portrayal of the role he or she is asked to delineate.
