MANILA, Philippines - Actor Piolo Pascual said he is now open to doing a new project with actress Judy Ann Santos after ending their long-time tiff.

“Ako, I’ve always been open. I love my job, I love my profession and ang mga tao naman ang naglagay sa amin doon. Sila ang bumuo noon so nasa kay Judai na yon. Ako, I never close my door to Judai,” Pascual told ABS-CBN News.

The actor’s statement was in response from Pascual-Santos fans and supporters’ requests for a comeback project.

Pascual said it is Santos who would have the last say on the matter.

“Siya na lang ang tanungin niyo kasi ako, okay ako. Siya lang ang makakapagsabi noon if she’s free to do it. I’m always free,” Pascual said.

Pascual said he’s aware that Santos will soon have her new soap series, “Habang May Buhay,” and like any other actor, he would also love to do a project with Santos.

“She’s a very competent actress, and who wouldn’t want to work with her. I’ve learned so much from her. She helped me a lot. Ang laki ng utang na loob ko kay Judai and hindi ko pwedeng i-discount ‘yon,” Pascual said.

The rift between Santos and Pascual has its roots in the latter’s statement about Santos’ relationship with her then boyfriend Ryan Agoncillo

In a previous press conference, Pascual said he hopes he has not caused any misunderstanding between Santos and Agoncillo.

Agoncillo had issued a statement saying Pascual has no right to say anything about his relationship with Santos, nor say anything about the actress outside of work.

Film with Sarah

Meanwhile, Pascual bared that he will do another movie with a new leading lady.

Asked if it’s true that Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo is his upcoming silver screen partner, Pascual replied: “Secret. Secret para may surprise. Pero depende kay Sarah kasi kailangan ng limang Sarah para magawa namin yong movie namin.”

Pascual is also set to do a movie with Zaijan Jaranillo, or more popularly known as Santino of the hit series “May Bukas Pa.”

“Laging nae-extend ang ‘May Bukas Pa’ so hintay lang kami pero kung anuman ang mauna, soap or movie, I will surely start anytime soon, maybe February,” Pascual said.

There’s word that Pascual is set to be part of ABS-CBN’s remake of the hit Columbian telenovela “Pasion de Amor.”

They found love at a perfect place, but they have yet to find out if they are truly the perfect pair.

In the Philippine remake of the 2004 Koreanovela hit “Lovers In Paris,” Vivian Vizcarra and Carlo Aranaz, played respectively by KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual, continue to embark on a difficult journey towards proving themselves worthy of the love they found in one of the most romantic cities in the world. However, Martin Aranaz Barrameda, played by Zanjoe Marudo, also remains determined to prove them wrong.

Whose love will come out victorious? Who would have to let love go? The verdict is in, but the revelation is yet to unfold. After a three-month run, the program is set to air its final telecast this Friday, Dec. 11. Will it be a happy ending? If it is, whose happy ending will it be?

Ironically, for everyone involved in the hit series, no happy ending could wipe away the sadness looming in now that production is about to come to a close. “Parang kailan lang nung nag-uumpisa pa lang kaming kilalanin ang isa’t-isa,” recalls the show’s director, FM Reyes. “Ang bilis talaga tumakbo ng oras kapag masaya sa set,” he adds.

Piolo says he has nothing but fond memories to take with him from his “Lovers In Paris” stint, especially from the shoot they did in the City of Lights. This was the first time the actor truly enjoyed Paris, as he was given the chance to see it through the eyes of his very own leading lady. “Syempre lagi ko nang maaalala ‘yun tuwing mapupunta ako sa Paris,” Piolo admits.

KC, who finished her studies in the French capital, is also thankful for the opportunity to come back and make her own series in her previous home, and in the company of people she had come to love.

“Kung espesyal sa kanila yung time na yon, syempre mas espesyal yun sa akin,” confesses the young actress.

Even Zanjoe is unashamed to admit how sad he feels leaving this chapter in his career, which he fondly shared with some of the best actors among his contemporaries as well as a few established thespians in the industry like Christopher de Leon and Mark Gil. “Nakakalungkot talaga, lalo na kung naging close na kayong lahat sa isa’t-isa. Pero hindi ko makakalimutan lahat ng natutunan ko sa kanila,” Zanjoe shares.

“Lovers In Paris” is Zanjoe’s first dramatic vehicle in the Primetime Bida spot of ABS-CBN Channel 2 while it is KC’s first venture into the realm of television series and her first team-up with teleserye veteran Piolo Pascual.

Due to the overwhelming success of the Star Magic World Concert Tour in the US four months ago, Beginnings at Twenty Plus, Inc. (headed by Stanley and Pelita Uy) which was a presentor of the two-city tour (in Los Angeles and San Francisco) together with Star Records, Inc. (headed by Ms. Malou Santos and Ms. Annabelle Regalado-Borja) and Blue Dream Entertainment (headed by Christian Andoy) decided to present the show in the Philippines in order to share it with fellow Filipinos.

This time, there will be more than 70 Star Magic artists performing in “extravagant” and “breath-taking” production numbers. Still to be directed by Star Magic head Johnny Manahan, the “Star Magic World Concert Tour Live at the Araneta Coliseum” will be held on Nov. 13. It promises to be a more exciting show, what with the number of performers (25 more than the artists who performed in the US).

This will be a fundraising concert for the victims of typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng, according to Pelita Uy. She also said that their goal is to be able to donate no less than P10 million to people adversely affected by the typhoons. “These are really trying times. Never in the history of our disaster-prone country did we experience the catastrophic forces of nature rendering all faction of society in equal terms. All of us are affected, either directly or indirectly. It’s time for us all to listen to God’s call,” she stressed.

In their common vision to help the plight of the victims and survivors of the typhoons, the producers said they will give the proceeds of the ticket sales to ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc.’s Sagip Kapamilya (which is the emergency humanitarian assistance program of the Foundation which aims to provide food and non-food relief to affected communities of disasters, rehabilitation and disaster-risk reduction projects).

“In desperate times like this, only our fellow Filipinos can help us. We cannot stop now,” said Christian Andoy.

All the Star Magic artists who’ve been active in raising funds for the typhoons’ survivors supported the endeavor of the producers and volunteered to donate their talent fees. “When Mr. Johnny Manahan informed us that the Star Magic artists decided to donate their talent fees in this concert, we know that they made a big sacrifice. We have high hopes that many will give their share by supporting the concert,” enthused Ms. Annabelle R. Borja of Star Magic.

The performers of the “Star Magic World Concert Tour Live in Manila” will be led by the Ultimate Heartthrob Piolo Pascual and Optimum Star Claudine Barretto. They will be joined by former housemate Sam Milby, the Original Hunk Diether Ocampo (who wasn’t able to perform in the US because he got sick), Kristine Hermosa, John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu.

Angelica Panganiban, Maja Salvador, Shaina Magdayao, Roxanne Guinoo, Lauren and Megan Young and the ASAP Coverboys Rafael Rosell, Zanjoe Marudo, Victor Basa, Jon Avila and Jake Cuenca will also be in the show, and so with Robi Domingo, Rayver Cruz, Mickey Perz, Sam Concepcion, Dino Imperial, AJ Perez and Chris Gutierrez.

“Katorse” stars Enchong Dee, Xian Lim and Erich Gonzales will be there, along with Melissa Ricks and Matt Evans. Pokwang will do the comedy acts along with Chokoleit, Kitkat and Bentong.

Of course, the evening won’t be complete without the audience being serenaded by Jed Madela, Nikki Gil, Sheryn Regis, Laarni Lozada, Ronnie Liang, Jay R Siaboc and Yeng Constantino, among others.

Joining the original line-up of artists are Gabby Conception, Vina Morales, Nikki Valdez, Jason Gainza, Wendy Valdez, Bangs Garcia, Guji Lorenzana, JM Rodriguez, Alfred Gatchalian and many others.

Heartthrob Piolo Pascual reportedly would have played villain to his arch rival Dingdong Dantes in the movie “Kimmy Dora” if he was not dissuaded by his manager.

In a meeting with Star Cinema recently, Piolo is said to have told the film outfit’s boss Malou Santos about his plan to play screen baddie to the Kapuso star.

However, Johnny Manahan, Piolo’s manager, reportedly discouraged him from doing so. Manahan is said to have cited Piolo’s status as one of Star Magic’s premium artists as reason.

The role eventually went to hunk actor Zanjoe Marudo.

“Kimmy Dora,” though under Piolo Pascual’s Spring Film Production, will be distributed by Star Cinema.

In a press conference for indie film “Manila,” Piolo shared that Dingdong was also offered to be an investor in “Kimmy Dora.” Piolo said Dingdong was interested at first, and even contributed ideas to the forthcoming Eugene Domingo starrer until he [Dingdong] decided to just concentrate on acting in the film.

As a producer, Piolo is thankful that his first project, “Manila,” has received overwhelmingly good response. The film premiered in the recently concluded 62nd Cannes Film Festival, was picked as the opening film in the 2009 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, and has been invited to the Moscow International Film Festival.

The budding producer’s dream project is one akin to “Ocean’s Eleven.”

If it materializes, Piolo said he will offer roles to Vhong Navarro, John Lloyd Cruz, and Luis Manzano.
